MEETUP – AI in eCommerce powered by Shipshape

A look back at the eCommerce Croatia meetup: AI in eCommerce powered by Shipshape

The meetup for online retailers and those planning to become one took place on Tuesday, 4 March 2025, at Sky Office.

The event went extremely well and, we hope, gave every participant something useful to take away, as the photographs below show. Thank you to everyone who attended, especially our panellists and, of course, the eCommerce Croatia association.

Over the past few years, artificial intelligence has become indispensable in eCommerce, something we can practically no longer live without. Or has it?

When we discussed AI at length at the CRO Commerce conference two years earlier, we were uncertain. With good reason: the momentum behind this buzzword was extraordinary. It still appears in the trends, forecasts and wish lists of almost every online retailer and business owner. Writing about it is easier than putting it into practice, which is why Ernest from Shipshape encouraged us to organise a meetup dedicated to AI in eCommerce.

Specifically, we discussed how to use AI to increase sales in our online stores. How are our industry colleagues using it? How are we finding our way through it all? And where do we stand compared with our competitors and with Western markets?

The meetup opened with the educational session “AI in eCommerce Today and Tomorrow”, delivered by our own Ernest Antolović and Davor Španić. We rounded off the event with a panel featuring:

  • Davor Španić – partner at the Shipshape digital agency.
  • Ernest Antolović – partner at the Shipshape digital agency.
  • Dijana Kladar – lawyer and vice-president of eCommerce Croatia, who explained the legal aspects of using AI solutions in online sales.
  • Dea Marušić – Chief Operating Officer of Kliker, a market intelligence application for monitoring online stores and their product offerings.
  • Zlatko Viščević – owner and manager of the Numex.hr online store.

This meetup focused above all on the practical use of AI tools. We did not talk about nice-to-have possibilities or intelligent agents training even more intelligent agents that might one day suggest something a customer wants. Nor did we try to predict the future. AI today, how it helps online retailers and how it helps customers: that was the theme of this meetup.

Here are a few photographs from the event:
